Goodbody Botanicals Takes Off with WHSmith Travel Listing
Leading CBD manufacturer Goodbody Botanicals has secured a product listing agreement with WHSmith Travel Ltd (“WHS Travel”) which operates more than 550 UK convenience retail outlets in airports, train stations, service stations and hospitals. WHS Travel will stock Goodbody Botanicals’ products in around 100 of their highest footfall UK stores from March.
WHS Travel will be taking the full Goodbody Botanicals range – five peppermint-flavoured CBD oils in LOW (2.5%) to MAX+ (20%) strength, a CBD balm (30ml) and CBD Softgels (30 pack) – however product availability will vary depending on the type of outlet. The soft gels are the most travel/convenience friendly format so these will be available in all stores, whereas the MAX+ 20% oil will be available in stores like Gatwick where there is a pharmacy.
MD of Goodbody Botanicals, George Thomas said “Our new product listing with WHS Travel is a significant accomplishment for our Goodbody Botanicals brand, putting it in front a large number of consumers looking for a high-quality CBD brand they can trust.
“As a brand, we are committed to taking the confusion out of CBD products, with clear consumer-friendly labelling to identify the different strengths of product available and the best usage for individual users.
“By working with the market-leading laboratory in this field, Goodbody Botanicals can confidently deliver fully-tested, trustworthy products that also taste good. With QR codes on every recyclable pack, consumers can also access lab reports for additional peace of mind”.
The listing with WHS Travel has been secured through Goodbody Botanicals’ brand partnership agreement with SHS Sales & Marketing. Andrew Freestone, Commercial Director from SHS Sales & Marketing said “SHS Sales and Marketing are delighted to be working with market-leading brand Goodbody Botanicals at this exciting time. This distribution agreement creates a huge opportunity for the brand to continue its strong growth through increasing availability and visibility to consumers in a dynamic retail space. We’re excited that we can continue to contribute to the brand’s success through responding to evolving consumer demands for high-quality options in more convenient locations.’’
A recent report by the Centre for Medicinal Cannabis found that CBD is one of the fastest-growing wellbeing product categories in the UK. Current estimates suggest that 1.3 million consumers spend in excess of £300m every year on CBD products in the UK making the CBD market larger than the total UK vitamin D (£145M) and vitamin C market (£119M) combined. To date, around 6m adults have put this natural product to the test but it’s not just those with chronic complaints and minor aches and ailments turning to CBD.
